“Fontanherzen e. V.” is a Germany-wide non-profit association for several hundred people with half heart, the most severe congenital heart defect. They can be kept alive only thanks to complicated heart surgeries (according to Prof. Fontan) in the first days / years. Life expectancy and quality of life are very different. Fontanherzen e. V. was founded in April 2012 by affected parents to exchange information with each other as well as with specialized doctors about the special problems with this malformation.” (Fontanherzen e.
